If you knowingly submit false information to the bank about the state of your property for personal gain that is fraud. "They should have checked harder" is not a defense.

When do they not check it out? Every property I’ve bought has had an appraisal done. To think one wasn’t is foolish.

Even if they don't check it out it's still fraud if you knowingly entered false information for your own benefit.
