Looks like every other person was going along besides that one teen
yeah rewatching it closely, it sure looks like 99% of the students were going along with the song and trying to be good sports, and one kid was shouting memes
Taken out of context it looks bad because they were in the middle of school chants and shouting with each other loudly, and that makes it look like they were shouting
at the guy. But considering they were clearly conducting cheers prior to him approaching them, that's not the case.
these kids were
clapping with him. Is that some horrible form of disrespect?
So what we've got here is a situation in which a bunch of
children who did nothing wrong, are on the receiving end of the internet hate machine, doxxing, death threats and going to be a matter of national scorn.
Let alone the concept of respecting the privacy of minors that the media used to respect even when they were guilty, this is being aimed at kids who didn't do anything wrong. Standing there smiling awkwardly as a man beats a drum right next to your face, with the vaguely threatening motion of his drumstick that could strike you at any moment? Of course he's flinching and uncomfortable. And now he gets to be crucified by the media lynch mob.
