It isn't hypocrisy. Your thinking is too straightforward. There is a difference between having an easy life, and realizing the essence of life, than having an easy life and not understanding it.

Lol, is that highlight supposed to be making fun of him and his worldview, calling him naive?

a guy who probably never worked a day in his life and gets shit handed to him for free (job, presumably house and car etc) and lives a cushy life style thanks to his fathers hard work is lecturing others on how getting things handed to you for free is no way to live

it's the lack of self awareness that's funny in the picture

Guess I can reduce my opinion of you to Chris's level.

Its pretty easy to see the hypocrisy whether you think its wrong or not. Seeing things from somebody elses perspective is a basic skill you both lack.

Youre assuming a lot with that statement, so you're really just showing a lot of irony with yourself by saying that others lack the ability to view things from others perspective.

Yes, I believe in taking personal responsibility for my life and that achieving my goals depends on the actions of me, which is something that many Americans lack today in our society.

Some people think that something is automatically entitled to them.
You know, some people are going to have better opportunities in life by default, congrats on a good dice roll.
But that doesn't mean they still don't work hard.

For someone to say, "people of this ethnicity and this social class will never amount to anything" is completely undermining your potential.

Get out there and do work.

An easy life is all perspective. A complex life may be seen as easy, because they were given the chances to create that complex life in relative safety. But a simple life may also be observed as an easy life. Being content with meeting your needs through habits developed out of necessity, and doing it with such a grace that to others it seems natural.

There are many ways to live. Those who would criticized such a person are those who are the hypocrites, imo. They aren't able to accept reality for the starkest shade that it is, and would rather view the world through their lens and their thoughts, instead of, like he said, create their own way or accept others ways as theirs.

Lack of self-awareness is all assumption on the part of the reader. To that end, it is ironic.

my problem with this perspective is that people who preach personal responsibility are the first to do a 180 and seek the very entitlements they regularly demonize
takes an astounding level of cognitive dissonance but these people exist, most recent example being people in texas mooching off government relief funds while claiming the brownies over in puerto rico should learn to look after themselves
