2: McClatchyDC posts the exact same allegation that Michael Cohen was in Prague that they claimed to have a scoop from inside Mueller's team, reviving their totally evidence-free report from anonymous sources, claiming a leak from a guy who never leaks, flying in the face of all the evidence we do have that he wasn't there. The only new claim here is that they open up that their tip from last year when they first posted the story claimed it was a cell phone signal intercept in prague of cohen's phone, and that Mueller has it. Like before, no other media verifies or corroborates this story, its only McClatchy. And then it gets silly. McClatchy argues in their own article that Cohen hasn't directly contradicted the Prague story since cooperating with Mueller, only beforehand, and that when Lanny Davis directly refuted it he wasn't technically Cohen's lawyer anymore and not necessarily privy to his deals with Mueller. So they rationalize that Cohen could be admitting this to Mueller and keeping it secret from the media and that's why Mueller isn't going after him for lying like he did vs Manafort. And after McClatchy posts this fucking retarded article, Cohen responds by tweeting that he was never in Prague and Mueller knows everything;

Imagine staking your professional reputation on a theory based on grasping at straws of a quibble over when someone makes a denial, oblivious to the prospect that the person could simply repeat the same thing in public and thereby destroy your credibility.

if anyone ever says again that McClatchy is a credible organization with a good track record, I'm going to point out they didn't even ask Cohen for comment in this story. There's not a mention of it. They only list:


Cohen was clearly inclined to respond on twitter and explicitly say "NO" 3 times in a row, and they listed the people they reached out for comment to and it didn't include Cohen, so I'm going to assume that these reporters are total shitbags
also they haven't updated/retracted their story yet even after Cohen commented, as of my post at least;
