explain how it will secure votes in this term? the majority of people don't care about the wall, its failure can be blamed on the dnc and used as a rallying cry during the next election to put republicans back in power. let it burn just like the phoenix

A broken promise won't just be handed off as, "it's the democrats fault". Shows incompetence and lack of ability to get things done. When you have crowds of people chanting build the wall and it results in a big flop it won't be helping.
