naw, fuck him, he was straight up lying. That wasn't some misunderstanding / misreading of the situation. He consciously chose to smear these kids.
Watching the video, there's no way he could possibly have felt like he was 'blocked' or in an 'ugly' situation. He walked right into it, he walked right up to the kid and banged the drum in his face. He could have turned around and left at any moment, and the characterization of "beast and prey" is utterly absurd. That's not the words of someone who just stumbled in and made a wrong snap judgment call, that's pure bullshit. He wasn't trying to 'finish a song' and nobody was blocking his retreat, he had to go far out of his way to approach them.
The media spinning this story really just caused people to investigate for the truth. They'll never redact it or post the truth, just spin more and pivot. It all shows just how big a piece of shit Phillips is.
