i think the polls are silly and actually represent "acceptance" rather than "support", also polarization means that people answer polls knowing they can and will be weaponized against Trump. so for the party (or more accurately to not aid the dems) they check yes. these arent complex polls where they lay out Trump's platform and specific policy, they're binary.

to make sure I understand you correctly: when polled, most registered republicans say that they approve of the job trump is doing. your argument is that a lot of them actually dont approve of his actions and only choose this answer out of partisan loyalty, right?

so... theory A is that people say they approve of the job he's doing because they actually like the job he's doing, as hard to believe as this might be for some. :o
theory B is that these people dont like what he's doing, but lie to defend him when polled so that the media doesnt get to paint the guy (whose actions they dont like anyway) in a negative light.

I mean... what you say is not impossible, and there are certainly a few such cases of never-trumper-gop-loyalists. But, sorry, I'll go with theory A and assume that the clear majority of those republicans saying they approve of his job really mean it.

He also doesnt realize the survey works the same for the converse opinion as well, balancing it out according to probability...

This. I don't know why anyone would want to allow Republicans to divorce themselves from the Trump train. You all deserve the reputation you are building for yourselves. No cum dodging allowed.

Thinking liberals are the left is another great example of conservative stupidity and ignorance.

While true in a global and/or historical framework, these two things are very much synonymous in the United States.

Yes, because Democrats totally pass things like socialist healthcare and not Heritage Foundation private market care.

i said it as plain as day, the polls a binary and not an aggregate of questions asking if they like his specific policy and rhetoric. such a test would reveal they're not actually as approving as the binary would suggest

that's irrelevant. 2 stats that are equally unrepresentative of any truth dont have any effect on each other. both stats are bloated, but that's not balance in this sense. im not claiming dems have more support and their stat is more representative, otherwise you'd have a point. isn't dealing with centrists hard?
