In 2017 and 2018, the GOP office holders still contained a ton of RINOs and old guard Republicans who opposed Trump's agenda. Also, if McCain doesn't happen to suffer from a brain tumor at the time, chances are that he gives the thumbs up to the obamacare repeal.
That's a big problem with the ACA is it mandated that the only insurance sold had to cover all the expensive stuff that isn't needed for someone who is just looking for a catastrophic plan in case they are very unlucky.
You shouldn't have to buy a policy that covers mental health, gender reassignment, contraceptives+PreP, ect...
Now instead of someone being able to afford a plan that they could have in case they get really sick, they just end up not being insured at all because they make too much money, but cannot afford to spend $12,000 a year for a plan.
I knew a guy who ended up dying from spinal cancer because of that, didn't qualify for government subsidy, didn't make enough money to be able to afford over $1000 a month going towards healthcare.
