If GHWB hated Trump his ultimate revenge would have been to publicly ask Trump to eulogize him. Trump would stumble so hard, compliment himself, and not be able to keep it apolitical. The news would run it for a week, memes would rise, and GHWB would get the "he deserved much better" sendoff.

I already thought the same. But on the other hand, his speech writers could come up with something decent, and he would just have to read it off his teleprompter and stick to the script. Tough for Trump, but shouldnt be an insurmountable obstacle either.

i can remember perhaps 1-2 times in his entire time in politics that he has done that. he doesnt even stick to script when talking about largescale tragedies. i am of course discounting the tweets clearly written by staffers, i mean in public speaking only. There have been a few times i assumed we'd see the restrained teleprompter trump, but most of the time you get 90% teleprompter and his adlibs make national news because of how much they stand out.

Nah... the ultimate troll would be for Trump to deliver a warm, sincere eulogy, and then everybody on cable news praises him for acting like a real president, and then him and his supporters have to shut the fuck up about fake/biased news for 24 hours. That would be glorious.

Its pretty difficult for him. I'm suspecting he makes a stab at Democrats who didn't love 41 until he was dead.

This is how the media reacts when Trump acts like a real president. The media covers Trump the way they do because of what he does and the way he acts. If he acted in a more dignified and unifying way, he would get more favorable coverage.
