the simple fact is if we saw a headline of "19 police officers killed in school shooting when they rushed into the building to protect children" we'd all be calling for more money for cops. instead we have the opposite, living breathing coward police and a pile of dead kids and teachers. all while the cops pretend more money would have solved this. especially vapid are the calls for more money for hostage negotiators, which is a cheap attempt to justify the time gap. cops are pretending that they considered this a hostage situation even as shots fired could be heard outside by parents. people who walk into a classroom of young children with a gun to kill them aren't going to be negotiated with, you may as well be trying to talk down a terrorist on a plane while it flys to the twin towers. they're a rabid dog who need a bullet, and no one in america cares how many dead cops there are in place of dead children to achieve that. even at a ratio of 2 dead cops to 1 dead child or more no one cares.
