It has nothing to do with whether he can "handle" 2 meetings. It's that meetings or lectures on diversity are stupid and not needed at all. Like I can sort of see how these might be useful if you work with a lot of minorities on a constant basis, or if you are in a customer service role that requires you to interact with the public. But if his job is to install electrical system then these meetings don't do anything for him except to annoy him.

You also need to prove how these meetings train people to become better employees. To me it seems they merely make the white male workers more apologetic and fearful around minority employees.
