For a savvy military expert, it would have been possible to conclude as early as late 1941 that the Axis powers would lose the Second World War. Once the Nazis and their proxy troops failed to capture either Moscow or Leningrad, the Attack on Pearl Harbor was a huge strategic failure and the U.S. officially entered the war, there was no more feasible path for the Axis to come out on top. Even if the war would rage on for another 3.5 years and the biggest and bloodiest battles of the war were still to come, the ultimate outcome was nonethless already a foregone conclusion by that point.

Russia hasn't lost, has made friends with China which means the sanctions failed and actually backfired...

By the way, even the worst case scenario for Russia (driven out of Ukraine) will not mean this conflict is over and missiles will keep raining down on Ukraine and Ukrainians will keep dying in senseless artillery exchanges.

Nice try but your logic complete fails. The Germans lost because they (well, Hitler) thought he could fight the whole world, and not one country at a time but all at once.

Russia, (largest country on the planet, 6K nukes, authoritarian regime that won't give up) is up against shitty Ukraine and that country is like a badly bloodied fighter who's kept in the fight only by massive Western support on all fronts.
