And does the republicans not want to put the $2000 motion into voting because they think they'll lose? Isn't the senate more republican heavy than democrats?

It's $600 per person if their adjusted gross income is less than 75K/year, or less than 150K/year as a married couple. In addition, there's $600 per child.

The Senate is more Republican than Democrat at this time; however, all amendments to increase beyond $600 are dead in the water at the moment even though there are some Republicans in the Senate who support the idea. There was only a momentary (although illusory) chance of something happening when McConnell floated the idea of a higher stimulus amount on the basis of several other conditions that became untenable, such as striking section 230 from the Communications Decency Act of 1996.

I'm glad that literally everybody on the forum now agrees that the Republican party as a whole are fucking stupid.

This is the worst take. The government isn't supposed to "do things". People are perfectly capable of "doing things" so long as the government can gtfo of the way.

The big problem is our government and media are in the pocket of China. All of the policies in our country are pointing our country into decline, and will be until our country explicitly declares an open or cold war with China.
