proper way to deal with a cough is to carry a paper towl and coof in that. You coof into your mask you put waste products into it and open up the possibility for secondary infection and you force out even finer mist of water vapor that travels farther with what ever its carrying. plus i would laugh at any one that sneezes or coughs into their mask.
