I'm still having a hard time figuring out what happened in the initial shooting, because that one may or may not have been self-defense
There's a 4 hour long livestream recorded by Regg Inkagnedo on youtube that has the encounter captured around 3:57:00
Its not clear if he's running towards people or away from people, and how far he's being chased. You can see he runs past some people, who then turn and join in chasing him
but what I can't make out and seems crucial is the first gunshot, which could be a firework or a pistol, doesn't seem to match the rifle shots immediately after
so he's running and the guy is chasing him at least briefly, there's what sounds like a gunshot, then he turns and opens fire
did he think he was being shot at? was he being shot at?
the person filming said "they shooting" after the first gunshot, before the kid opened fire. And the kid was facing away from the guy chasing him, so he wasn't shooting him

Is the first link the initial shooting you're talking about? If so, it appears he's running away.

There's going to be a lot of evidence gathering. Eye witness accounts to see if a consistent story exists, ballistics, etc. Shit I'd be surprised if his trial starts this year.

He's running, but not necessarily 'away'. In the longer video showing the leadup to that, you can see everyone is walking down the street, and this guy takes off running and you can see people chase after him
the guy narrating a livestream is saying someone just got assaulted and phone slapped away, but he's zoomed in on that guy and when he zooms out you can see people have started running in that direction
its very unclear what's going on exactly. He doesn't turn around until the bag is thrown at him, so its possible he doesn't even know a guy is chasing him
but who fired that first shot and why seems critical. I can't tell if its the guy with the rifle or not, and he's not facing anyone visible or pointing his gun.

For someone who claims to be a libertarian, you sure aren't.

You're ignoring Democrats refusing to enforce law and order, their DAs refusing to prosecute, them fueling racial tensions/demonizing police, Defunding the police (despite massive increases in violence), promoting "protests" aka riots, and refusing to call out the violence.

There's a lot of blood on the Dems and big Media's hands -- all to try to push "well, it's Trump's racist America". It's evil really. You have to be a fool to fall for it - as you are.

Google the 10th Amendment.

These Democratic Mayor's and Governors, several members of Democratic Congress -- garbage politicians. They need to be voted out and in some cases, should probably be held criminally/civilly responsible for some of their actions. They're refusing to provide protection.
