I'm not sure she has the necessary ego, yet... to be a president. I think if everyone ganged up on her like they do with Trump, that she might crumble.

I think both her and Tulsi going at each other would be one of the strongest and most composed battles in my lifetime for President

if we ever get those 2 or similar heading into a November this country would be on the right track

That's a narrow way of looking at it. The president hires appointees, and appointees hire the officials underneath them.

Furthermore, believing that government officials are apolitical is inane. Resigning yourself to the belief that government officials left their humanity at the door when they took the job one or two administrations ago is indeed quite loony.

Ultimately the president is responsible for the people who get appointed. The problem for Trump is there's not many competent, qualified people who believe in his brand of populism/isolationism.... so he's stuck appointing mainstream Republicans. Senior advisers and cabinet heads trying to contain Trump's impulses isn't the deep state undermining his agenda though.

I never said that. I'm distinguishing between career officials and people the president appoints.
