This is good. Everyone except backbench tory loons agree that a transition period is needed considering the sheer volume of processes that need to be sorted before we're fully out.

And a year in the process the UK hasn't sorted out anything significant, they are still dwelling on the basic question before any of the sheer volume of processes can start to take place.

Soft... or hard Brexit ?

While it would be great if we could have tariff-free access to the single market while simultaneously having an immigration system in which we only accept people who have certain skills and/or share values, that isn't going to happen. A strong economy is more important than having a reasonable and fair immigration system, so soft brexit in the customs union is what I'd want.

I'd prefer it being delayed until there is a political opportunity to avoid a Brexit tbh ^

We would have lobbyist paying politicians to draft legislation that would only allow people with certain skill sets that they need to come to their country. Otherwise how would they know what we need and how corrupt is that inherently? And at this point is a government just acting as a recruitment apparatus for private business?
