i've been trying to get to the bottom of how people really feel about trump not releasing his tax returns and i've looked to brietbart to get some real insight on the matter
in lieu of mudslinging between the left and right, i've saved us the trouble and captured some open dialogue and candid confessions on the matter from the comments section of brietbart
would any resident liberal or conservative like to comment on whether or not they have a position on this matter that was not captured in the exchange below :o ?
http://www.breitbart.com/video/2017/01/22/conway-trumps-not-going-release-tax-returns/I'm going to be blunt and honest: I don't care.
I care about domestic policy. I care about geopolitics. I care about making sure enough technocrats are in place in the bureaucracy to ensure evidence-based executive policy and enforcement decisions.
Why would I care about the tax returns of a billionaire? Nothing would surprise me. Most people have done something wrong, whether accidentally or purposefully, on their taxes. And if he did release them and something were found, like he itemized too much stuff and paid no taxes for years, it would just be a news cycle. It would be little more than media sound bytes and echo chambers.
I'm very much against the strategy the Democrats and the media noise machine are employing right now. As a consultant and strategist, I think shit-tossing, blame-based, emotionally charged campaign strategies are only effective for short term gains in specific situations. There is a better way, but the Democrats have chosen not to take the high road. And trying to get a rich guy to release his taxes so another media cycle can be set off, inciting public rage for a few weeks until the next thing comes along, is just worthless, pointless organizing that ties up field organizers, volunteers, and the media in an endless cycle of pointless 80 hour weeks that get them nowhere.
