i'm in agreement with thesnipa, i dont think the Khan stuff hurt him with anyone who was already voting for him. hell it probably got him votes just no one told the pollsters that.
the damage from Machado he bounced back from so they brought the tapes out. that was damaging but then this is where the (C)linton campaign put it in cruise control, letting the surrogates bring out the 8971238128793789139831 misconduct abusers, and using this rhetoric against him. Meanwhile, Trump campaign kept on message to voters and took no state for granted, and that got him the victory.

The scandals/nonsense hurt him with independents and Democrats. I don't know how you can say the Alicia Machado stuff helped him somehow...

Trump stayed on message the last 2 or 3 weeks and I believe that helped him tremendously.

The Obamas canceled a photo-op of the current and future first couples outside the south entrance of the White House. In his first visit to the White House after the 2008 election, Mr. Obama and first lady Michelle Obama posed for the cameras alongside President George W. Bush and first lady Laura Bush. The decision not to participate in this tradition illustrates how bitter the campaign was, particularly for Mrs. Obama who delivered some of the most emotional arguments against electing Mr. Trump.

oooooookay then

My mistake, you said the Khan situation probably helped him. You're making the argument that making negative statements about a gold star family was applauded by some Trump supporters.

#1 The father is a proponent of Sharia Law in America
#2 Trump only said about the wife "maybe she's not allowed to speak" because she was on stage the entire time and didn't say a word.

Not really a negative statement, and Hillary regularly disparaged Benghazi families. Cool story bro.
