12 years ago if you told me that a republican president would refuse to cede a democratic election and subsequently incite an insurrection I would have laughed my head off but alas, here we are
What is worse is that Trumps rabid and corrupt extremism is shared by most of his party. you say democracy is at stake? it is, but because of the scumbags in your own fucking political party
12 years ago we were 11 years since that very thing already happened in Florida during Bush v Gore.

Trump lost his reelection, ceded and left office. He didn't even drag it out in the courts like Bush v Gore. Yet here we are 3 years later and Biden's camp refuses to even hold a democratic election and is already talking up the prospect of refusing to cede if they somehow fail to rig it sufficiently.
I get a chuckle from the idea of "extremist" being applied to the idea of wanting America to hold free and fair elections and have the us abide by their result. Well, more a chuckle from the irony of the word 'democrats'
this part isn't accurate. voting in 2000 was in November, bush v gore was decided by SCOTUS on December 12th.
in 2020 afaik the last of trump's legal challenges (about 50 total) was dismissed on December 14th. most were done by November 27th (30 or so of the 50).
the two situations were fairly analogous imo.
