It's easy to oppose a wall that is being pushed by a guy that ran on the great wall of trump that would be paid for by Mexico

The great wall of trump in the terrain we are talking doesn't make sense for the price in a lot of the area. I support security and resources for technology and don't find a wall by itself immoral at all but foolish conservatives that compare it to prisons actually make it into a moral arguement by going that route

Trump wanted the wall as a giant brand item dick in the dirt and he said we weren't going to pay for it.

This is all about a campaign promise and some conservatives turning on him for not fulfilling it while they had full power for 2 years. In some areas a fancy barrier makes sense but that's not the campaign promise and people's paychecks shouldn't be held hostage by a manbaby president to fulfill a tiny piece of what his actual campaign promise was.

This is not a crisis or a national emergency it's an issue a slow burning long occurring issue that's all it is

oh cut the crap, they did not have full power. at no point during trumps presidency did they have a filibuster-proof majority in the senate, and the senate democrats filibustering the GOP bill before christmas is the only reason why the construction of the wall hasnt already started.

at the end of the day, the only major pieces of legislation that were passed by congress during the last decade were Obamacare and Trump's tax cuts. Obamacare could be passed because the Dems did have a filibuster-proof majority of 60 seats at the time, and the tax cuts only went through because it didnt have to clear the 60 vote threshold.

And let's not forget that a disastrous Bush presidency, a catastrophic war in Iraq, a fumbled Hurricance response and Obama's historic 2008 campaign all had to come together to barely net the Democrats a 60-seat majority for a brief 2-year period. With the way the Senate is operating, getting partisan legislation through congress nowadays has become almost impossible.

That's all we've heard for years

"vote in your change if you don't like it"

Lost the house, gonna lose more in the house next time around and the Presidency is more on the line than it was a year ago

The Trump shutdown over a dumb-ass great trump wall very few support in the way he sells it is the hill he deserves to die on

Republicans didn't do much with their power and their own conservative base are starting to get riled up and Trump's legacy is mostly temporary as of right now

all their own fault and I hope the cowardly democrats actually stay strong for once and fight Trump to the end on this one

The uncountable instances of voluntary private commerce and coexistence in the absence of a state throughout history.

1000 years of Celtic Ireland
The 'wild' west
International trade during medieval times. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lex_mercatoria

black and gray markets were persistent and life saving even during the reign of many murderous lefty tyrants who openly tried to ban capitalism.
A state does not magically make private ownership and trade possible, nor is it the only mechanism to protect markets and property.

None of those are examples of capitalism. They are examples of markets. Markets also exist in socialism.
