Color me unsurprised.

However most of the more conservative ideas of the right are also going to die in that group. Things rooted in religious grounds like abortion are going to be a non-starter.

Planned parenthood is good for it's original and stated goal.
Making it optional is disgenic, and that has nothing to do with religion.

You inventing strawmen out of thin air is a good way to let everyone know of your intent. And intent makes it very easy to paint good and evil in the minds of normies.

you are particularly triggered today, aren't you?
goo-shill posted a meme criticising the tone of a statement made by a democratic congresswoman. i'm pointing out the hypocrisy considering their cult leader basically introduced that kind of tone into washington politics, disgracing the office on a daily basis and no one on the right ever complains about it - you're making my point here, trench boy...

trump introduced that tone into washington, really?

what a clueless, uninformed opinion from you of all people, you, the guy who constantly yells "your simplistic talking points lack nuance" to others.

the truth is that the public discourse had gotten increasingly toxic since at the very least the clinton years during the 90s. if there is any one person to blame for kicking off the self-reinforcing degeneration of the political debate in the United States, it is Newt Gingrich, the Republican Speaker of the House during the mid-to-late 90s.

the polarization between "blue america" and "red america" then fully broke out from under the surface during the 2000 presidential race, and only got worse during the bush and the obama years. this polarization and the poisoning of politics is what allowed Trump to become President in the first place. he is the product and not the cause of the things you're blaming him for.

edit: just to clarify: I do realize and admit that Trump is reinforcing those things, that he is pouring even more fuel to the fire.

as usual you're missing the point here, which is the massive hypocrisy of the trump cult feigning outrage over the tone of a democratic congresswoman, when their emperor might just be the worst offender, certainly as a president, in that regard.

the polarisation and extreme tribalism unquestionably go hand in hand with it, but my post very specifically addressed the offence that right wing pundits and shills took from her choice of words - no one claimed or suggested that trump alone is responsible for the division in american politics (even though he clearly used it as a tool and did his best to further accelerate it), so please stop strawmanning...

It's almost like Andrew Jackson challenged multiple govt officials to duels, once humiliated his own Vice President, was given the nickname "Old Hickory" because he carried a stick he'd hit people with, etc

one of my favorite moments from US history, although overall Jackson was a pretty shitty person and bully, it was quite the alpha move:

Quote
Many political issues separated Jackson from Calhoun, his Vice President. One was the issue of states rights. Hoping for sympathy from President Jackson, Calhoun and the other states-rights party members sought to trap Jackson into a pro-states-rights public pronouncement at a Jefferson birthday celebration in April 1832. Some of the guests gave toasts which sought to establish a connection between a states-rights view of government and nullification. Finally, Jackson's turn to give a toast came, and he rose and challenged those present, "OUR FEDERAL UNION — IT MUST BE PRESERVED." Calhoun then rose and stated, "The Union — next to our liberty, the most dear!" Jackson had humiliated Calhoun in public. The nullification crisis that would follow served as the last straw. Jackson proved that he was unafraid to stare down his enemies, no matter what position they might hold.

there was no mistake in Trump being the first president to dare hang a picture of Jackson in the Oval office, it sets the exact tone he wants.

Can you imagine an America where the President selects the person he beats as Vice President?

what a monumental check to power with the VP being vote tie breaker in Senate.

people sat back in awe when Obama picked up bitter rival HRC for is SoS, and they agreed on like 90% of policy domestically and only a bit less abroad.

Nice try

Your own words were:
Quote
"i'm pointing out the hypocrisy considering their cult leader basically introduced that kind of tone into washington politics."

What you wrote in your previous post and the position you take on now are not the same thing. Dont blame me for your inability to find the right words to accurately convey your point.
And what are you even thinking to accuse me of "strawmanning" after all I did was quoting your exact words? That's ridiculous.
