I know the Right is anti-education. Everybody should study the Arts the humanities and The Sciences somewhat in their life. But since the farther you go in study the less likely you are to be conservative I can see why the Right wants to do things like dismantle the Department of Education, make teachers even less paid than their master degree counterparts, etc, and make college harder to attend. The right is more concerned about essentialism than Merit by a long shot. It's because they use race and nationality in place of real Pride itself.

As someone who has studied the liberal arts and social sciences almost exclusively, it mostly has to do with the professors drawn to those degrees.

Teachers are paid in line with the challenge (or lack thereof) of being a teacher.

As someone who strongly supports increasing teacher pay, the first step is to improve the quality of applicants.

Bit of a chicken/egg isn't it?

Usually you increase pay and the talent follows. Maybe your chicken was a product of abiogenesis.
