if you hand in a project at school late, you will lose marks
if you hand in a project at work late, you will lose reputation and maybe more
why didn't they just send the shit in earlier if they cared so damned much? why would we suffer now because people were laxidazical about this so-called "most important freedom" of voting
fuck em
just count it up , 8pm tuesday cutoff, and whoever wins, wins
pretty simply imho
None of that is the point of what I was saying. Trump did discourage mail in voting, due primarily to worries surrounding chain of custody and potential fraud. Indeed, even the Biden campaign encouraged voters to go verify their ballots had been received down at the polls. I'm simply questioning the theory that voters (in general) Trust any government official when they tell them how they should go about voting. Like, I've voted Absentee for the last 20 years. IDGAF what Trump or Biden says either one. I'm going to get my ballot mailed to me, fill it out, and then personally turn it in at the polling station. By doing it that way, they verify ID on the spot, and it checks the box that insures my ballot will never be rejected for a "slightly different looking signature".
Regarding postmark laws, nearly all states (like Georgia) have deadlines that required the ballot be RECEIVED by no later than 7pm on the third. A few states, however, do simply agree that sometimes the USPS fucks up, and allows for any ballot that's postmarked by 11/03 to be counted. Those are the hardline rules. The only thing Trump rally went off about was how PENN tried to change things at the last second so that ballots received after the 3rd but showing no postmarks could be "assumed to have been sent in time". Um... No. And IIRC, he won that case, so everything worked out fine.
Don't worry friend, it'll all come out in the wash. There'll be a winner, and kudos to whichever it'll be.
