I've been part of pard longer than any of the current posters. I call your bullshit. I've seen him spew his Republican non sense and it shouldn't of fooled anyone.

i legit have no idea what u mean, and didnt know who u were until 2016.

I just quit posting for awhile. I've been posting since 06. This forum used to be more interesting. Nephi and inviction and a few others made this place a lot more interesting. There's no debate anymore, just two sides yelling at each other and both claiming victory.

or icemage recognized attacking blindly major sources is really just a way to shut down conversation. and hating CNN is a meme, so any time he wants to have a real talk and someone just goes for the "LOL CNN" hack post he's cornered into trying to prop up to source just so he can talk about a topic unrelated to the source. also as he said he gets his sources from twitter most times CNN is a super commonly sourced site on political twitter.

i just am sitting here laughing that 5 years ago Icemage was considered about as far right as you can get in PARD without being an extremist meme poster and here we are now debating his ideological adherence to the furthest left MSM outlet. did you guys seriously forget a decade or so of right leaning posts from Icemage just so you could lazily toss him into the leftist camp rather than actually sitting down and considering never trumpers are a real thing? i just dont get it lmao

Tbh Icemage was pro Ron Paul before that, so I guess it was just part of finding his groove politically and growing up/maturing.

It was more interesting when most users were young and figuring out their own values systems. Now we're all pretty much figured out, a good chunk are reasonable and conversations that would be interesting in 2010 end quickly as we reach an informational or values impasse. The only exceptions are when a poster is taking a really stupid position (usually Ghot) and we take turns ramming them in the corner.

Also theres a conservative in office so most if the big critics during Obamas term arent here and arent willing to take the same stances because theyre really Republicans wearing the libertarian moniker for credibility (usually Cam).

i started posting in pard in like 2010ish, but only shitposting when i wasnt at 20%. started posting in more earnest in 2012, so i prob just missed your early days of posting and fit into your gap, giggity.

i think pard's biggest issue is many people play an archetype character as much or more than they express their own ideas. this by itself isnt an issue, but when they come up against a super serious poster incapable of rolling with the loose candor, memes, metaphors, etc. its just cringey to watch two people fail to connect.

its even worse when both are doing this in the same conversation in flux. one side jokes, the other side hungry for nonexistent points jumps on it and wastes a paragraph debunking a clear joke. and repeat ad nauseum. all of the fruitful discussions ive had here largely fall into one of two categories, 1) both parties equally joking, 2) both parties equally serious. sadly this rarely happens or if it does the 2 serious parties are just too far apart to even have a fruitful discussion.

i have no doubts that my centrism is mainly due to my want to constantly play the other side, but an advantage is that i can both joke and be serious with just about anyone. and the worst case scenario is we agree to disagree amicably. there are really only a VERY small number of posters i just cant "get there" with. o well.

Tcock might be from around those days too. Don't know if there are any other people from way back then. Maybe FrodoBaggins lmao.

Sadly I don't post like I used to. I used to be pro democrat when I was younger. I think a lot of the things I liked about the party have been pushed to the side. A lot of the sjws and virtue signaling has pushed me away from the party and taking a hard stand against it. It also makes it harder for me to side with the left. When the party no longer looks like a pro worker party. (nor Republicans giving tax breaks to the rich) I didn't see where bush jr or Obama helped, but they ended up hurting American workers. There seems to be a forgotten people and its the middle class in America. I grew up in poverty and my dad died poor with nothing in the end. (Working always) Some how he had privilege, because of the color of his skin. I never seen it. Until this rhetoric quits of privilege, because of race and when virtue signaling ends, I'll lean right.
