If you’re willing to use your firearm to massacre innocents (i.e. life in prison or death penalty), you’re probably not too concerned with the prospect of doing time for procuring said firearm illegally.

e/ YeeHaw can probably answer better than me when it comes to background checks, but some mass-shooters are first time offenders, which leaves mental health care as a decent solution.

Government has its ways to minimize illegal sales for sure if they really want.

With a repressive use of the police force in communities with higher gun violence (Chicago, St.-Louis, Baltimore, Detroit, etc.) maybe they could, but with the current government in those cities I wouldn’t hold my breath. Not to mention how it would be perceived my the public.

There is more than enough help for I’ll people. You cannot force people to eat lithium for breakfast. Even if you could they still shouldn’t own a gun. It is already illegal to possess a firearm if you have been deemed mentally ill.

Selling a gun to somebody who would fail a federal background check is a felony. You go to big boy prison if you get caught. Do you suggest harsher punishments?

Federal background checks are required for every gun sale besides private sales in a handful of states, where it is left to the seller to do their due diligence. Again, you are committing a felony if you do a private sale with somebody who would fail a federal background check. This applies to the so-called “gun show loophole” which is a straight up lie. Nobody goes to gun shows and illegally sells guns.

Speaking of federal background checks, basically any crime you can imagine bars you from ever purchasing a firearm. If you got charged with having a dime bag a decade ago, good luck. If your high school girlfriend accuses you of smacking her and you were sentenced to anger management, not a fucking chance you will get one.



“Common sense” is already federal law. “Common sense” is propaganda at this point which ultimately leads to gun seizures. There is no other proposal that isn’t already a law.

Common sense also includes enforcing the laws that are already on the books rather than giving career criminals a no cash bond get out of jail free card.

Aaaand yet mass shootings happen regularly. Your gov must be really incompetent. All of them bunch of clowns.
