It's a hostage situation doofus. Storming in is not protocol for very good reasons. You have to be some next level shit-tier human to try and turn this tragedy as the fault of police.

i remember a school shooting years ago. some kid was shot and was trying to get out a window and the cop told him to get back inside. the kid said "fu " and got out.
if cops cant put the chit on the line for kids there is something horribly wrong with it all. of course when lefties complain they are faking it, lefties being all about virtue signaling and violence.

This could of played out very differently with this guy instead of killing the kids he could of given himself up. Imagine a very plausible scenario in which a gunman takes hostages and is eventually talked out by police and no lives are lost.

It's easy in hindsight to Monday morning QB and say well the police should of stormed in and just taken him out. But gun blazing isn't always what's best.

how dumb / dishonest are you?! it's a spree killing, not a "hostage situation". those are fundamentally different. the killer wasn't in contact with authorities, there was no negotiating, no demands.

if we were talking about a civilised country with a competent police force, you'd have a point - obviously you don't want vigilantes / parents storm in there and take matters into their own hands, but when some animal is killing children, and no one does shit about it, ANYthing is better than just standing around, letting those kids and teachers fend for themselves and get massacred one by one.

looks to me its about officer safety even when kids on the line.

it isnt the first time a school been shot up while the cops hang out out side. I have a real problem with how they are able to do that.

Another protocol that isn't good is an officer telling them to yell out help "if you need help!", then the guy came in and shot the little girl.

Active shooter protocol is for officers to run towards the shooter yelling police to try to distract, engage and kill the shooter to give civilians a chance to escape. It's not a hostage situation if the shooters going in to murder as many people as they can. This was the playbook implemented after columbine. It's a twenty year old policy that officers should be running towards the sound of gunfire to neutralize the target everytime in this situation. If armed officers are unwilling to do that because they fear for their safety, they have no business being police officers.
