The working status of both parties should really be discussed before you get into a long-term relationship.
If you didn't discuss that she needs to be working and paying for it then that's on you for having crappy relationship management. If you're coming into it with a ton of money then how your finances are situated should be one of the first things you bring up when discussing long-term plans
If you discussed it and both agreed on the woman not working then she's entitled to some benefits upon separation. She didn't take the career advancement under the premises that she would be provided for.
Really it just comes down to communication and expectation.
