Re: your statement that his condemnation was followed by "fine people" and therefore invalid, uh no, that's not how English works. If you make a statement to clarify what you're about to say, that clarification doesn't get overridden by what you say. It, you know, clarifies what you say. As I said, any attempt to use that statement to portray him as racist is disingenuous at best, if not outright malicious lies.
I don't think Trump is racist, but I think he has no problem playing to them if he thinks it improves his chances of getting elected or staying in power.
Trump has shown time and time again that he doesn't really have convictions, so you can't really say he's racist, or not racist. He's exactly what he thinks he needs to be at the given time.
