The police is controlled by the local government, mayors and state legislatures. How exactly have Republicans been in charge of places like Portland, Baltimore or Minneapolis?
Also note that when Trump wanted to send federal law enforcement to cities where violence and looting are out of control to help restore law and order, this move was universally decried by federal and local Democrats, the mainstream media and large parts of academia. "Stormtroopers", "fascist display", "separation of powers", yada yada.

Disingenuous. Cain was a 74 year old man who had been suffering from metastatic stage IV cancer since 2006, his health was super dicey to begin with and in no way representative of anything. Additionally, his own family and spokespeople stressed after his death that he had been traveling through a lot of places in the week before his caught covid, among them places with far higher infection rates than Tulsa where the Trump rally took place. There is zero evidence that he caught it at this rally, and looking at the virus activity on his travel schedule, it actually seems quite unlikely that his attendance of the Trump rally was the culprit.
