Remember UT99? Facing worlds, low gravity, high air control, instagib. Quake had the better and more professional PvP engine and scene, but UT was simply more fun and aesthetically pleasing to play.

Never played UT anything. Didn't like Tournament. Didn't like Quake either for that matter.

Just finished Dasa Mountain Pass, Cellars at Dasa Pass and Serpent Canyon... I'm just at the start of Nali Castle... time for a looooong break.
I'm playing with a joystick... there were a ton of beasties at Dasa Cellars.

Obviously I haven't done anything at all yet in the Nali Castle area.

It never ceases to amaze me how beautiful this game is, even after over 20 years. It's sort of a forgotten classic in PC gaming. Most people remember Wolfenstein, DooM, and Quake, but not many remember Unreal. Do you have the Na Pali expansion?

It looks so corny and old, but damn, when this game came out, this shit blew minds away lol.

Yeah, that's where the "Gold" comes in. Without the Na Pali expansion, it's just called Unreal.

And yeah... I still like the grfx. The music too. Sometimes in the outside areas, I like to turn on "fly" and just zoom around... checking it all out. :)

can you keep a secret?

i've largely automated my own position without letting my boss know the extent to which my job is now automatic. i also replaced several unsavory workers in a few depts by automating their positions as well. or more accurately, creating enough resources for the departments that they can trim out the problematic employees. I work in conveyor belt automation engineering and project management. so i created several automated drawing tools to take the place of conventional drafters. i made our drafters super drafters. and i've created a few programs to automatically do a few functions of the project management, some as simple as precanned templates some more complicated like scheduling programs.

Why would i tell on you? You're (according to your own accounts) proving yourself to be a model employee.

Thumbs up.

fortunately some industries/jobs have moved away from the prior generations notion of “occupying space in the office means you’re working hard”

teleworking and flex schedules (if on a salary) are superior. that said only like 10% of the working base can manage it without ruining their efficiency imo

the owner of my company thinks music makes people work slower and when our secretary asked him about "brain breaks" like water cooler visits or just a 5 min walk around every few hours he called her a thief and said he'd be watching on the cameras. luckily he's like 90 and never here.

lol he’s not even a boomer he’s like an uber-boomer. born too soon to fight in WWII but old enough to have these archaic views. criticizing listening music but probably was living the dream at Woodstock though back in the day
