...you most certainly weren't talking about carnism . Next time just say " if people stop eating meat " .

Without carnivorism mankind would still be treebound .

I legitimately want to understand in what way I wasn't talking about carnism.

I wanted people to abandon the belief that they need to use animal products--I wanted society to change its ideology.

If you shame your family then you are doing it wrong and you dont understand the first thing about mental health and should not in anyway try to "help" anyone other than yourself.

...my wife once asked me " do these pants make my ass look big " and I replied " no , your ass make those pants looks big " . It's all about finding the right words ;)

We can be bunk mates

we can take turns being the bottom :^)

but i was semi-serious because people who don't recognize meat production as immoral do not have the cognitive ability to empathize with non-humans, a form of intelligence only some humans have evolved, and so its best explained in the form of "if there was a God who punishes, he'd punish you for doing it"

I'd gladly become a 'vegan' once in vitro meat is economically viable

Yeah this is gonna be the turning point. If humans attempt to be somewhat reasonable, once we have tasty, cheap, healthy in vitro meat, it only makes sense to ban real meat production.

Changing opinions to conform to the people around you is a human tendency which is probably more the rule than the exception. And I'd remark that people resent you even more when you change your opinions to clash with their own. If you want to test this in an experiment, go to an online forum and post "what if humanity used less or no animal products and imagine all the benefits it'd have".

Well, sure. Liberals tend to claim they are critical thinkers. It doesn't take that much critical thought to realize veganism is consistent with liberal ideals. Anyone who cares about climate change and animal suffering should be vegan.

I'll compare it to liberals in the 90's like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama who were against gay marriage. What the hell changed in 10-15 years? Were the arguments in favor of gay marriage different then? Nope, but most people are sheep and need politicians and the media to encourage them to change their mind.

Not so fast, now who said that god's morality is based on the suffering of all beings? It seems pretty clear to me that some Christians interpret genesis as meaning animals belong to humans, not that humans belong to earth.

depends on how damaged she was, for some women insults are better for seduction than compliments.

I don't think veganism is consistent with liberal ideas, neither in the classical or contemporary sense of the word. It's consistent with anarchist ideals.

Good Fad diet and Atkins will pop up. You want a balanced meal and not ignore an entire category of macromolecule.

I won't give up lipids or proteins either.

And I don't use a lot of salt in my cooking ;)

Keto diets are legit and sustainable for the duration of weight loss, at which point you should return to a more balanced eating schedule.

Anything that tells you to give up protein is a sham beyond all shams. Lipids are essential, but cutting back on trans & saturated fats are important. Carbs are also essential...that's why you do a low-carb diet, not a carbless diet. Still a Keto-diet, still legit af.

As a moral naturalist/hedonist, if there is a God I believe that he must have the same morality as is correct in our world.

Ofc that's a big part of why I don't believe in God, he wouldn't have made this world.

But that's for another discussion.
