If it does then it does obviously. Humans can never know this though.
Also "true" is a human logic term that may have no significant value in the grand scheme.

Contemptus mundi is a good motivator for spiritual reflection. Part of being a good Christian is recognizing that life is a gift from God though. Part of that recognition is to enjoy the gift. Saying that this life isn't great to enjoy doesn't seem quite right to me.

@bolded - Exactly, and saying that statement itself is true is a universal truth.

And I lol'd at the underlined statement, because that's a maxim that actually requires more assumptions than anything else.
