Madison(iirc) was worried specifically about this type of mob rule situation, although he erred in guessing it would be due to "state loyalty" that would make things difficult for the federal government. I don't think he can be blamed for not predicting political division so deep that a minority party would attempt to mob rule shame a majority rule's pick out of the running. If only Hamilton was around and senate majority leader, they'd hop an uber to Maryland and he'd put a round ball through Feinstien's lying eyes. Admittedly he'd also try to buy Cory Booker so he could whip him too.

The Biden rule and much of the Senate rules aren't codified in U.S. law. They are just agreed-upon Senate rules. Exploiting rules of order to create disorder is technically legal but a shitty thing to do. I warned people something like this would happen when shithead Reid did it. What I will say is that in New Jersey and California, a fake drivers license costs ~20$ and its illegal for employers to "discriminate" against employees if the ID looks fake.
