"technically legal" is an interesting way to describe a basic function of the senate that has remained unchanged since the ink of the constitution dried.

Madison(iirc) was worried specifically about this type of mob rule situation, although he erred in guessing it would be due to "state loyalty" that would make things difficult for the federal government. I don't think he can be blamed for not predicting political division so deep that a minority party would attempt to mob rule shame a majority rule's pick out of the running. If only Hamilton was around and senate majority leader, they'd hop an uber to Maryland and he'd put a round ball through Feinstien's lying eyes. Admittedly he'd also try to buy Cory Booker so he could whip him too.

The Biden rule and much of the Senate rules aren't codified in U.S. law. They are just agreed-upon Senate rules. Exploiting rules of order to create disorder is technically legal but a shitty thing to do. I warned people something like this would happen when shithead Reid did it. Bet I can even find the jsp post about it I look hard enough.

That I do not agree with. That's a real big stretch.

Perhaps we're talking about entirely different things. I'm simply talking about the Senates role in approving/denying a SCOTUS pick.

but if we're going to talk Biden rule, that's a different conversation. On top of that Kavanaugh is far more moderate than others on the shortlist, so subjectively the rule might not even apply. I tend not to put much importance in those types of bullshit rules anyhow. the balance of 5 conservative / 4 progressive judges should be maintained, and Kavanaugh > Barret for the current court. I think the Dems lucked out, Amy is much worse.

But through a process that Kemp calls voter roll maintenance and his opponents call voter roll purges, Kemp’s office has cancelled over 1.4 million voter registrations since 2012. Nearly 670,000 registrations were cancelled in 2017 alone.

There's no proof for the millions claim and none against, so its still on us to prove that.

What I will say is that in New Jersey and California, a fake drivers license costs ~20$ and its illegal for employers to "discriminate" against employees even if the ID looks fake.
