Hillary Clinton rejects calls for civility: "You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for."

Good for her. Republicans abandoned civility during Obama's presidency (despite the fact that limp-wristed weakling rolled over for Republicans constantly), and now it's time for them to reap what they have sown.

civility =/= do what the potus wants, in the context of the legislature.

despite some bad apple politicians who pushed birther bull shit or other racist stuff, most of what the GOP did can be summed up as:

1. rode anti-Obamacare sentiments to a mandate killing majority in both houses
2. ignored what Obama wanted to do, fired blanks in the form of Obamacare repeals they knew would be vetoed

democrats are trying the same resistance without a mandate, just pure mob rule bully politics. i hope they win in the midterms just so they can stop being suck bitches.

You really glossed over what Republicans did during Obama's presidency. I mean, we literally just had a new justice appointed to the Supreme Court and hundreds of lower court appointments after GOP obstruction for years.

i glossed over nothing. the GOP obstructed WITH power. The dems are attempting to Obstruct with public pressure largely drummed up on lies. that's a pretty big difference.

imagine the GOP attempting to get the Dems to withdraw Garland by leaking allegations that he touched kiddies, after the hearing was over, then lied about leaking them, and lied about believing the allegations all along.

instead they looked Barry in the eye and mumbled with googly eyes, "you will not fill this seat Mr President". with power, in accordance with the checks and balances that the founding fathers put in place to stand specifically as a protection against mob rule. there's a damn good reason that the senate, and not the house, holds these powers. its all there in the Federalist papers, unlike firearms or some other more ambiguous issues, governmental procedures like these are all laid out in terms of intent.

wrong thread for this

but from 2008-2010 they cried cuz powerless to stop Pres Obama and the (D)s from doing this

2010 - won the house, proceeded to utilize said power
2012 - picked a timid loser to lose to Pres Obama
2014 - won the senate, more utilization of moar power

in that time (2008-2014) the Senate confirmed two Obama SC nominations, with multiple Republicans voting yea in both instances. not once did they try as snipa said to railroad any nominee with salacious, unverifiable partisan smut

Know what, fair, I'll give it to you. Republicans are playing a very strong game of technically legal fuck-you.
