Those are separate things, but neither were 'good' ideas. Many of those PPP loans were absolute frauds, but ask yourself, who created the system for this fraud to happen? If government doesn't force businesses to shutdown, that path to fraud and large waste is never created.

JD Vance visits a tourist trap cheesesteak stand. He makes a joke about how John Kerry wanted swiss cheese years ago, one of his infamous dumb flubs. The philadephia inquirer than prints an article and tweets saying JD Vance ordered a cheesesteak with swiss, oblivious to the joke. They lambast him for it and accuse him of desecrating the holy relic. A couple hours later they silently update it saying he ordered a whiz wit cheesesteak, and asked why its so offensive to order swiss, framing it as if Vance was the oblivious one in this story

This is the level of petty dishonesty and trying to defraud minor details to an obsessive degree. Harris and Walz kick patrons out of a diner and bodega so they can carefully script a supposed normal interaction buying a bag of doritos, done in multiple takes with a sound and lighting crew and extras they bussed in just to pretend to be shoppers and diners. The media tries to pounce on JD Vance by completely failing to recognize a light hearted political reference he made
