Salvation isn't based on our Works, but yes our reward in heaven is based on what we do for Christ AFTER we are a Christian.
yes but with salvation comes works For to receive a gift from god and not open it or use it? that would seem very dis ingenuous and absurd to the bulk of biblical sentiment:
Ephesians 2:10
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should
walk in them.”"but as it is in truth, the word of God,
which also effectively works in you who believe."unwillingness to work is usually considered unbelief because if you believed you'd naturally do some kind of deed, work, even if its just positive prayer to spread that joy:
King James Bible
"
Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit."
Matthew 13:58
“And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.”So, unless your claiming some kind of enoch like excemption i would definitely encourage people to accept christ's love and work through it, how you want to interpret, works, deeds, and in relation to prayer is withstanding
imagine the entire church recieving salvation and then doing nothing, now imagine them sinning though forgiven but not producing works because their salvation was turned into an exploitation of christ's grace, believers counted as unbelievers or within christ and being cut off inevitably by god.
The devils preach in their churches salvation only sentiment so that the gates of hell may be uncontested unfortunately. It enables slothfulness.
