Even if you don the tinfoil hat you have to recognize that most likely it's a small number of actual Soros organizers whipping up grassroots opposition. The media can just walk over to the picket line, get a few "we took off work for this, because that's how much we care" quote, and Trump looks like an idiot.

Why people feel the need to lob easy pitches to the media, when even the truth that it rings has no political effect, is beyond me.

This line of attack never made any sense to me.... people said the same thing about the Tea Party protests. Whether the people protesting work for some activist group, or they just took time off of school/work, what does it matter? Seems like a distinction without much of a difference.

This is how democracy works... people with common interests or views organize. That doesn't make their protests any less legitimate.

well, yes and no. I think the important factor is any group of protesters doesnt contain JUST paid protesters. there will always be a mix of legitimate protesters, and likely most of them will be legit. But being paid to protest does make your protest less legit. I'm reminded of the classic Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia episode, where they see anti-smoking street protesters, then follow them back to their van and they're all smoking. Lobbyists come to mind as well. but i dont think it's ever been proven that a protest was all, or even mostly, paid Soros protesters. It's a bullshit line the GOP should just abandon.

What does paid protester even mean though? Some guy in a van hands out cash to people? Or people who work for various left-wing organizations show up in the senate halls because they legitimately care about this stuff?

This is just an easy way to delegitimize these people. Putin blames protests on the West/CIA, the left blamed the spooky Koch brothers for the Tea Party protests, and now the loony right are blaming the globalist Jew.

I look at it like this. If you're walking down the street and I ask you to try a sample of a new sports drink, you say no thanks, then i say how about if i pay you 2 dollars, so you can buy another drink if you dont like ours. You accept the 2$ and the sample. I just influenced you to do something you said no to for a minuscule amount of money. Paying somebody anything deligitimizes them some amount, that's relative to the person's original motivations, reprisal for the act, and the amount of money (among other things).

the issue here isn't calling out paid protesters for getting paid, it's calling out crowds of protesters for getting paid when in reality only a small number or even zero were actually paid. That's the lie. That's the issue.

But its true, the lefty rants are at least partially astroturfed to create the illusion of majority.

Meanwhile the media purposely ignores the legitimate march for life which is much larger.

so you have an unproven percent, unknowable in quantity, that you KNOW is in the lefty protests.

doubt. lots and lots of doubt. there is no tactic that one side of the political aisle uses, not one single tactic. astroturfing sure as shit is used by both, in what % in each issue? who knows. but it's there.
