A police officer was shot twice by gunmen ambushing him in Selma, in the third ambush of police in the same area in the past few weeks. All the shootings took place near a black public housing complex, with gunmen fleeing into the housing or escaping via vehicles. The shootings were by multiple gunmen with multiple caliber weapons. The last ambush was from police responding to a fake call to the housing block only to be shot at when arriving, and this ambush was on a random patrol car on the street.

It almost as if America could better allocate their federal budget to start cleaning up some inner city areas.

There's ample research out there that shows that a person who owns his/her home is much more likely to maintain it. The "throw more money at it and it will get better" approach doesn't actually work.

For example, look at research on underperforming school districts. It was shown that just giving them more money doesn't actually translate to better scores.

not that I dont believe you, but where did you get the "black" from in "black housing complex"? in the actual article you linked, it just says "housing complex" without referring to the ethnicity of its residents.
