How much would you need in savings to do that? Maybe 3-5k dollars? Everyone who's not a total failure at what he/she does should have saved up a sum like this by the age of 29.

Maybe in Germany.

Definitely not in the states. That's a lot of money for at least half the population.

If anything you should be praising her for not just putting it on a credit card, like so many do.

I never said that everyone who supports Trump is a successful, decent or likable human being. In a country with a two-party system, where one has to have the support of (almost) half the country to get to the white house, every president will have assholes and losers among his supporters. All candidates are supported by some successful and by some unsuccessful people.

Feel free to call me an arrogant, elitist, privileged prick for the following..... but imho this "at least half of the population" who cant even get something basic like that done should not hold positions of federal power, should not be congresspeople.

I want people with a working-class background and/or people who grew up poor to be represented in congress, dont get me wrong. But I want those folks who were born poor and then managed to pull themselves out of poverty by their own efforts to be the ones representing these segments of society.

There is absolutely no shame in being born poor or underprivileged. But why the hell should we expect someone who wasnt even able to improve his own little life to be able to improve our society, to improve the entire country?

but every single day you're cool with a silver spoon fed heavily stunted manbaby that has shown no competency that would suggest he would thrive let alone survive in even an average struggle American scenario?

Or they just have a family and only make 50k a year.

I dont think youre arrogant, i think youre ignorant. Its okay, most people are. Its hard to be aware of situations youve never been in.

What is your point? I grow up poor as shit with a single, illiterate, poor as shit mother and I agree with mr."ignorant". If you take a bunch of people who make 50k a year and have a family and can't scrape together enough money that is by someones own doing. It's not magic. Shitty stuff happens to some people, not all, and many people who do have shitty circumstances can overcome believe it or not. Personal choice my dude, it's a wonderful thing, unless of course you made the wrong ones and want everyone else to pay for it.
