to be fair, the house popular vote margin was R+7 in 94 and 2010, and will probably end up D+7ish in 2018. that a similar advantage by the democrats translated into less seat gains is due to gerrymandering and natural geographic disadvantages of the democratic coalition (self-sorting etc).

true, but the big divergence in the ratings for obama and trump between liberal and conservative scholars shows that these two are too recent to judge. particularly when it comes to trump, it is far too early to judge his presidency and his legacy.

I agree that it's way too early to evaluate Obama or Trump. The effects of their decisions often extend many decades.

But the ratings aren't that divergent by political affiliation (certainly not relative to what you'd expect based on the polarized nature of popular politics). Liberals, independents, and conservatives all have Obama well above average, and all have Trump bottom 5.

and why are independent and republican scholars rating h.w.bush so high? I always thought the consensus was that he was a thoroughly mediocre president...

I'm no historian or political scientist but I have a fairly positive view of him.

Reagan, on the other hand, not so much.

Yes, the woman who graduated cum laude from Boston University with a bachelor's degree in economics and international relations is economically illiterate.

Being in the top quartile is still relevant. To call someone economically illiterate who literally has an economics degree is just idiocy.

I italicized it because it's supposed to be italicized.

EndlessCry has a bachelors in chemistry and hes pretty clueless about basic chemistry.

I definitely wouldn't trust half of my class to answer basic chemistry questions 5 years out of the degree

She really is pretty stupid though. Smarter than Ghot, no doubt, but still an idiot. I'd imagine that several people on this forum would ravage her in a debate.
