Honestly, I think Trump is doing more to protect the West from the East than has been done by any president in a long time.
Just yelling at the East doesn't really do anything except make a politician look good.
However...
Tariffs, getting tough on immigration, dropping trade agreements detrimental to the US, cleaning all the cruft out of the state dept., etc., seems to me to be doing more to protect the west from the east.
No he isn't. He's reinforcing and encouraging this weakening of the West which Russia has been in a very sneaky way, propagating since at least 1968. He's got the same mentality as dictator and whip up the people's primitive emotions so that they are more suspicious of their governments and leadership than of say, Russia, or other countries in the East. Just look at the way right-wing (who support Trump, and Trump reinforce them, and similar leaders such as Orban in Hungary) travels to Russia in order to learn military skills. It is sick. It is seriously sick. Because Russia and other countries in the East cannibalize on the temporal "spiritual" bankruptcy of the West and wants us to believe that they are this old-school, moral, anti-decadence, hard-working, fair etc whereas West is just crap. I don't trust these "tough-guys" for a minute because they are only out to exalt themselves and they act like immature individuals. The Bible says that cursed is the land whose leader is a child, and I believe that quote is very wise. Just compare Merkel, with all her flaws, she is a thousand times more moral, righteous and humane than Viktor Orban. He is a wicked man, and I am not saying Trump is; because I don't believe he is; but he seems to be falling for their game. West needs to stand together, we need to recognize the many wonderful things the traditional establishment helped to do in our respective countries, and then we have to, in a mature and gracious way, recognize what they did good, and what they did not, and fix the latter. We do not need more war, especially not internal ones, what we need is to look maturely at our nations and see how we can move forward. We do not want to identify with Russia and other semi-civilized countries.
Edit: And we need to get rid of the anger. Anger is eating the west up. And it's on both sides; those who fight for the establishment and those who fight against it. But I fear that the anger is more intense on the latter side, but I might be wrong.
