Yeah I hugely respect the conservative scholars who responded to the survey.

Really elucidates how uninformed internet forum laymen are. Judging by the activity of internet conservatives you'd think all conservatives think FDR and Obama are the worst ever and Trump is the best ever. It's important to pay more attention to the experts who've actually deeply studied the topic and to ignore rands on the internet who get their worldview from Reddit and 4chan and don't really have a clue. That goes for all political affiliations, and all subjects honestly, not just politics.

true, but the big divergence in the ratings for obama and trump between liberal and conservative scholars shows that these two are too recent to judge. particularly when it comes to trump, it is far too early to judge his presidency and his legacy.

wouldnt surprise me in the slightest if scholars 30 years from now rated him in the high 20s or low 30s.

and why are independent and republican scholars rating h.w.bush so high? I always thought the consensus was that he was a thoroughly mediocre president...
