it was a brilliant 10-year recovery plan: 8 years of decent recovery then it was specifically structured for the economy to take off as soon as the 2016 election happened

wish the 8 year part wasn’t needed but oh well

I was dumb in a few of your threads, but I've definitely heard you and I see how your career will ruffle a whole a lot of feathers. Your career definitely isn't immoral at all.

I can understand your hesitation with eastern stuff given the prevalence of hippie garbage too.

I know you're being facetious, but single moms on the whole are a whole nother topic. I should make a thread!

automation is a wave for sure, glad to hear were on the same page in issues we've been separated on for sure.

my wife is huge into ayurveda and my good friend is going to school to become a practitioner. my main hesitation comes from just hearing about it so damn often with very little interest to start off, but there are a lot of wonderful concepts.

Since I'm going to a D.O. school I have to spend a significant amount of time learning about osteopathic manipulation. It's kind of on the same line as ayurveda, at least from a cursory googling. It's got like 10% legitimacy and 90% bullshit. Which is funny because almost all of the 10% legitimate part we learn in a separate class called Principles of Clinical Medicine, which would also be taught in a M.D. school.

It's immediately apparent that the teachers, who are strictly OMM practicing physicians, are on-edge about the lack of resource into its effectiveness. They like to tout titles of papers but are really hesitant to get into details like sample size and averages.

You'd be surprised the demand for that kind of junk. Ayurvedic, kriya, astrologers, etc make a shit ton of money if they know how to run it. Most of them are quacks based on what I've seen in line with Thor. Ordinary people lack spiritual guidance in these times and their desperation will drag them into odd places.

I study the history of the culture itself, and jyotish, thor still makes fun of me for that. The bhagavad gita is probably a worthwhile read for any human being.
