That is certainly what the neoliberal capitalists want. But they are not the left.

The left wants, in the immediate, a living wage for all workers. All workers. When we ask for straightforward paths to citizenship, it's because we want them to earn the same wages, attain the same benefits, and be equal in all things.

The Democratic Party is not the left. Neoliberalism is a right wing economic philosophy. When "the right" complain about shit in the streets of San Francisco, when they complain about Beverly Hills millionaires and billionaires using underpaid illegal immigrant labor to maintain their homes and gigantic lawns... they are making the same case the left is making. The only thing missing is the fact that it isn't the lower classes or the immigrant classes who are to blame for these problems; it's the capitalist class exploiting us all. We will only achieve victory through worker unity.
