what, specifically, do you believe Obama did, again specifically, to improve the economy while in office?

not a trick question, legit curious.

I’m giving his basic legacy. There’s great and there’s not so great, as is with most presidents.
It doesn’t make sense to say he did absolutely nothing while “sitting on his black ass.”

The economy gained a net 11.6 million jobs. The unemployment rate dropped to below the historical norm.
Average weekly earnings for all workers were up 4.0 percent after inflation. The gain was 3.7 percent for just production and nonsupervisory employees.
After-tax corporate profits also set records, as did stock prices. The S&P 500 index rose 166 percent.
The number of people lacking health insurance dropped by 15 million. Premiums rose, but more slowly than before.
The federal debt owed to the public rose 128 percent. Deficits were rising as Obama departed.
Home prices rose 20 percent. But the home ownership rate hit the lowest point in half a century.
Illegal immigration declined: The Border Patrol caught 35 percent fewer people trying to get into the U.S. from Mexico.
Wind and solar power increased 369 percent. Coal production declined 38 percent. Carbon emissions from burning fossil fuel dropped 11 percent.
Production of handguns rose 192 percent, to a record level.
The murder rate dropped to the lowest on record in 2014, then rose and finished at the same rate as when Obama took office.

the economy, much like the climate, has a natural cycle. i asked what obama did specifically to alter the rate of recovery in that cycle. not the gains the economy made in his tenure, which could be caused by the cycle. unlike climate change, there is no consensus that he did anything to alter the cycle.

I don’t really feel like going through each and every move...
By this logic, we can say the same about Trump, tbh.
I’ll accept it if they accept it LOL.

not really. obama's legacy was one of social change, with economic positives few and far between. he shot his own foot economically for domestic social changes or foreign policy. trump's the polar oppisite. he's all economy.

your comparison isn't just wrong, its exactly wrong.

endless's post was hyperbolic and exaggerated, but it was closer to the truth than "jobs went up so obama did it".

They went up because the low point of the recession would make any gain look good.
Any president could’ve done that, tbh.
Decisions were made under their administration that helped the economy. I blame the end of the Clinton era for starting the problems in the first place, but here we are.

i believe you're hyperfocussed on the hyperbole. of course obama didn't literally sit on his black ass and do nothing. the assertion is that overall he hampered is own recovery more than he boosted it (significantly). something that i dont think u could disprove if i gave you a month and pallet of mt dew code red.
