It’s okay to peacefully protest and look for bread without a mask or social distancing. covid19 knows to avoid these situations. the media and democrat politicians and lefties said so

I'm not sure if this was pointed out, though I thought you yourself did: when you put yourself into a situation you don't have any legal right to be in, you lose the ability to claim self-defense.

OTOH, I just saw this picture of the shooter:

...which might give him that legality back, if he was some kind of cop-in-training.

He's a fucking baby. Wanna pinch his cheeks. Joe Biden would grab him and sniff the fuck out of him. Just send him to his mama to give him a good talking to, tell him not to fuck with those Boogaloo Boys they're gonna get you in trouble.

I really really have to say I fucking hate the internet doxxing literally everyone.

He's 17 and CNN published his name earlier. Not sure how they can do that with a minor.

Wouldn't such an interpretation make any organized citizen mobilization in response to lawlessness inherently criminal?
That is after all pretty much the definition of a militia.
The mob isn't constrained by staying at their homes and attacking only people they can reach from their lawns. When they band together and target lone citizens, they have a number advantage.
Saying that people can't organize to defend themselves can have the same effect as saying they can't defend themselves, when an organized resistance is necessary.
The whole idea of forming militias and posses to defense against outlaws, well it might be anachronistic but it is American as apple pie.

An apple pie, made with different, strange, fruit.

agreed, sadly it’s literally encouraged by the media since they claim it’s “relevant information”

remember cnn threatened to doxx some guy on reddit cuz he made the wrestling meme with trump and vince mcmahon with cnn’s logo imposed on the latter’s face

It's fucking disgusting. It's such a gross display of power, similar to brandishing a gun that you have no intention of shooting.

I think defending YOUR property or even something very local to your property (i.e. a house that's walking distance) is appropriate. If you're getting in a car and are traveling miles from your property, I think that's a really tough sell.

For example, I'm less than 10 miles from downtown LA (~45 minutes). It would be highly inappropriate for me to get involved in any sort of "keeping the peace."

I was speaking from an individual's point of view. Something like a neighborhood watch I think would have more responsibility in both directions. They can cover more ground but they would also have stricter rules of engagement (imminent threat sort of thing as well as a great relationship with law enforcement).

You're right that a militia is the natural extension of the right to assemble as well as the right to protect your community. Does a militia need to act in unison? Do they need to get approval from other members? I honestly don't know b/c it's not something one needs to think about haha.

something something social contract something something might makes right
Taking it to its logical maxim in the other direction- could we have tens of thousands of libertarian militiamen swarming into kenosha from all around the country and acting as their own police force?
can the people instantly assemble their own armies whenever the government steps out for a minute?
that might challenge the very concept of national sovereignty.

I agree with a lot of posts here that people should be armed to protect their communities.

Every black person in America should be carrying a Kalashnikov, ready to shoot the violent rioting police and the white nationalist Republican Party terrorists who have invaded their homes.

The Constitution is very clear about this. Cops and conservative white people are enemies domestic and are therefore legal targets.

Its a new movement for angry mobs to target and harass random white diners in public places for the crime of being white, saying you're with us or against us
