Impeachment is similar to a grand jury proceeding in criminal court. It finds if there is sufficient evidence to bring charges against a defendant. It's not until the actual trial (the Senate part, in this case) where guilt is determined.

You can't be impeached by the house alone, therefore Trump has not been impeached yet. If Trump actually did something wrong, I believe the Senate will follow suite. Only then is Trump considered impeached.

If I was Trump, I'd turn around and have Pelosi impeached for abuse of power and slander.

Yes, the Senate absolutely has a role to play, but their role is to conduct a trial based on the articles of impeachment handed down by the House. The impeachment itself is the "filing of charges", so to speak (the articles of impeachment ARE the charges brought by the House).

FFS, this is like 8th grade civics stuff.

The senate is going to throw the Impeachment out real quick so it was never considered valid in the first place.

The Senate has the power to overrule the House if an impeachment is invalid and bias. Go research the impeachment process some more.

the criteria u can impeach someone for is incredibly vague, it doesnt even require a crime. so how exactly can they say it's "invalid"?

The House is the grand jury. They don't convict anyone. They determine if there is enough evidence to bring charges.
The Senate is the jury. The upcoming part of the process is the actual trial. The Senate doesn't "overrule the House". It conducts a trial, overseen by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, based on the charges brought by the House, and either convicts or acquits based on the evidence brought at trial. Acquittal is not an overruling of the House. It's a finding of "not guilty", based on the evidence. Now I'm fully aware that this is a political process, and not a criminal one, but the concepts still apply.
