source?

also, why would you just exclude one of the MAJOR issues with guns, the 'success' rate of suicide attempts?!

us justice department. Why does it matter if someone kills themselves with a gun? More people die from vehicular accidents, are we all going to stop driving? To me this is not a relevant statistic, do you think if you got rid of guns people who wanted to kill themselves would stop doing it? Or that criminals are going to stop being criminals? This is silly.

The difference is that we do a lot more to prepare people to drive.
Classes. Tests. License. Renewals. Etc...

Whereas we refuse to do those similar, practical things for firearms.

These measures won’t get rid of everything, but it makes a shit load of difference to say “we tried everything we could” versus “eh it’s just the way it is.”

You said it was mental illness in the previous post.

And now it's "population and culture" ?? :santa:

ah, the personal attack came quickly.

You asked what was different, a lot of the shooters are mentally ill.

The difference between those countries mentioned are population and culture.

This is true when you look at U.S prior to 1970's and 80's. What Happened?

Driving is also a privilege and not a constitutional right.

Have you ever tried to get a gun? It varies but it's not as easy as people would lead you to believe. Also I do not disagree with you, I am all for more proper education, tests, etc.

So the US justice department is a right wing arm of imposition? I dunno man I think you got some things to work out but if anything along these lines is similar to what you think not only are you a nutbag, but you have some pretty obvious contradictory problems within that very simple statement alone.

Kek here we go.
It’s called an amendment for a reason. It’s a “well-regulated militia” for a reason.
I’m just not sure why you’re ok with little children being shot in schools without being able to say we really did everything we could to keep them safe.

For reference, I’m active duty military.

I own firearms for personal reasons and for job reasons.
I went through training and testing to handle said firearms and what to do in situations. More people should have firearms with the training and knowledge that I’ve been given. This includes a rigorous background check.

I’m not too comfortable with the fact that I was able to go to an Academy in Texas and buy a 38 with 100 rounds of ammo in 15 minutes. Granted I was the only customer in line to buy a gun, but the entire process took about 15 mins.
