Can you guys imagine what the results would have been if Trump had run a better campaign? If he had stayed disciplined with his message while maintaining his showmanship, if he had avoided all the missteps like Alicia Machado, John McCain not being a war hero, the Khan family, ridiculous tweets, etc.

The guy was on tape a month ago describing grabbing women by the pussy because he's famous and can get away with it. He still won.

He wouldn't have had the high rural turnout.

It would have been a slaughter.

His ground game was like 1/3 the size of Clinton's, too.

im not honestly sure a disciplined campaign would have won. i think him being rowdy, minus some of the sexual assault allegations, got him more votes than it lost. Honestly what % did the Khan family lose him? did veterans think to themselves "nope too much time to go to Hillary", nah, they hate her.

Cause Trump talking about Alicia Machado and John McCain's war record got rural voters out to the polls? Get real.

Every second the media was covering all of Trump's missteps was a second taken away from them covering Trump's message of economic renewal and changing Washington. He could have won over more independents if he had avoided most of the nonsense.

Trump voters picked him despite his missteps, not because of them. Every time I watched CNN reporters on the ground interviewing Trump people about his latest scandal, they said they didn't care, and they wish the media would focus on the issues.

His "not being a politician" was what brought people to the polls. Lose the aspects that differentiate him from the pack, lose the appeal.

That's why I said "disciplined message while maintaining his showmanship".

that 24-7 news coverage allowed him to spend money on rallies rather than TV air space. take away the coverage and he'd run 1 rally a day instead of 2-3. he'd travel less. etc.

IMO if he wen't positive he'd lose, i mean he didn't even carry the popular vote so any negative change would have been a loss.
